It is that time again for all our beautiful and loving Moms! How did you spend your mother’s day?

I have a mom whom I love dearly. Due to the distance, I am so sorry that I cannot be there to celebrate Mother’s Day with you but you are always in my heart, in my mind. I wish I can be there and I will try my best to take time off, and be the best daughter that I cannot be, today.

I love you and I know you know it too. I treasure all your advice, the beautiful memories we share and even when you nagged me because I know you want the best for me.

Pale or Fair

I don’t like the colour of my skin… To be exact, I don’t like the tone colour of my legs which is different from my arms.. All this attribute from all that driving with the sun that tanned my arms and upper body but NOT my legs… argggh.. That means when I get to the beach, it is not a nice sight to show my ‘whiter shade of pale’ of my legs.. like uncooked bread versus baked browned ones.

I suppose I need to check with any of my girlfriends if there is a special tanning device similar to a spray tan machinewhich will give me a tan without having to spend time outdoors. I used to apply a lotion but it is quite troublesome whereas a spray is much more convenient.. Just spray to get the tan colour you want.. I suppose it works almost the similar way for the tan to develop. Would love to get a nice bronzy look!

Mini Snails?

Okay, so I admit that my eyes are not too good. I mistook these stuff in the picture for snails…These are actually cute little pots and cups and sculpted to look like grapes and leaves, au-natural… I almost threw them down when I saw it on my sister’s kitchen…hahahah sorry Sis, lucky I didn’t! They are so little that I mistook them for a bunch of snails… I don’t know why, but like I said.. my eyes aren’t that great..

Next time, don’t put something ‘vague’ in the kitchen if you are my friend… Otherwise, face such circumstances that I might just mistake them for something else…

Beautiful not only for the Bride

Did you know that marriage is not just made in Heaven? Oh well, what I meant is that marriges are made (well some that I know of) were made from marriges itself. Wedding ceremonies, actually.

Some of my girlfriends met their spouse in a friend’s wedding. And in these instances, they met them because the girls were bridesmaid or among the selected bridesmaids for the wedding. That is why I think, besides the beautiful bride who gets to doll up and be the glamour of the day, it doesn’t hurt for the bridesmaid to look pretty just as well. It is a beautiful day and not all the eyes will be targeted at the bride and groom. Yes, we all like to look how pretty or charming the bridesmaid and bestman look too. So if you get the chance to put on great stuff like those Alfred Angelo bridesmaid dresses, then why not grab the chance to be swept off by a Prince Charming who is a guest invite of the wedding ceremony. It may turn out to be a story book love story… *dreaming*

Keep The Sun Out

Each morning when I wake up the sun gets into my eyes.. It’s because of the big open windows and my curtains are not doing very good job in shading the sun from my bedside. It gets me irritable.. but it only happens this time of the year when I am not out of bed by 8.30 in the morning.

I am seriously thinking of getting those blinds or shades for this bedside window but I am not sure how should I measure it… with the frame or without the window frame… When I last browze the furnishing store, I saw this very interesting honeycomb shades that comes in 3 gradients of brown beige. I think it looks very nice and matches my room interior and colour scheme as well, a mix of brown woody and soft yellow furnishing. Maybe I should take a picture of my window and measure them both with, and without frames and seek advice from the store…

Tickets Expiring

My friend gave me 4 tickets to the museum two weeks ago. Oh how silly and forgetful I was.. I had totally forgotten all about it till I saw it yesterday. It expires end of the month… one day left and I can’t make it this weekend.. I have a dinner party to attend too. I can’t find any takers so far and I guess my tickets will go to waste..hrrmmmph..

I wished I had not accepted it in the first place. It seemed like a long time when she gave them to me.. and now time flies so fast.. I shall call another friend to see if she wants to have it.. But I feel bad for such a short notice.

I do like to visit museums. They provide so much nostalgic memories as well as educational information about so many things, people, places and stuff. No, it is not a boring thing to do. Museums are interesting places. I like the Art Museums best!

Anniversary

We celebrated our Wedding Anniversay not too long ago. Oh, to be exact, a month ago. This is the date most married couples would remember as the date is usually significant in our lives. We had the date engraved in our rings as well as our names too. I remember when we were looking or shopping for wedding ring, I wanted to have an all silver set but my mom, being the very conservative person, she insisted that the design I chose had no significance of being feminine…but they both look the same as mens wedding bands. She insisted that there must be a little feminity or intricate design for the ladies.. and said my ring would look suited for a man. Oh well, to listen to her advice, we decided to pick a platinum set with a little gold trimming in it.. .That made her happy.. guess Mom’s the word, eh.

“What? You want to learn drums?!”

My other half almost fell out of the sofa he was sitting on… Immediately he stood up and looked at me, eyes wide open, very different from his sleepy natural eyes…

“Ooo dear, relax… relax… yes, I do want to learn how to play drums… and no, please don’t tell me I’m old or too old to play the drums… ”

Oh well, this is the kind of reaction my hubby can spare for me.. thinking I must be having post something whatever that people of my age is getting to. I must say, I do have this interest since I was very young, taking out my moms’ large tins of Ovaltines, Milo, milk powder in large tins and banging on them as if I had a set of drums.. And whenever I would walk past a music shop, I’d be eyeing the drums, not those strings.

Now that I’m mostly at home and not doing much, I figured my hearing is still good enough to warrant me to stroll down the music school to see if they have short Drum Modules for adults..older adults.. If you have seen a 5 year old banging on the drum set in Orchard, why not someday you see an older, much older lady doing her gig in the heart of Orchard, and mind you, I am sure, I will have an audience!

Long Service Award

Hubby is reaching a new milestone with the company he works. He will be getting a long service award soon. He is among the first generation of employees and good thing about the company is that they value their employess and now that the government is encouraging companies to conside hiring retiring employees although they may be retired or nearing the age of retiring. Usually long service awards consists of name plaques with a congratulatory message and a gift as well. The gift is usually a watch or a return trip ticket to any country of choice. How nice.. I guess I can look forward to a nice holiday since he already has so many watches and told me he is not too keen on keeping another item to collect dust… I am now actively searching for ideas on where to go..should I choose a relaxing holiday or an exotic different kind of holiday?
