Dance Away

Posted by spymama on Oct-20-2011

So, the dancing craze is here. From arcades to dance floors, everyone wants to dance. OH, is there a dance for every occasion? Maybe the ‘just dance as you like’ when you hit the dance floor in a discoteque…oh do they still have discoteque or called such? My friend who is so crazy over exotic dance like belly dancing started on some dance called zoomba… which I have not even heard before.. So she doesn’t go for class but seemed to be doing the Zoomba on her Wii device at home. Maybe I should just swing by her place… or samba over to check what this Zoomba is all about. Exotic or not, or can such dance craze be found in community centre halls like the generation of Line dancers?

Great Way to Save

reward cards
My niece proudly showed me her bank account savings book. Wow, she seemed to be making regular trips to the local bank lately. How did she do it. What spurred her inspiration to save money, so different when I was a child. Oh well she then took our some colourful card from her cute little handbag and said, These are reward cards from my bank! Whenever you have saved up a certain amount of money, you can exchange these cards for encouragment gifts! Oh now, I know! I think this method of saving is just wonderful and helps to put a positive note to savings. The more you save, the more you earn gifts! I wish they have something like that for us adults too… Don’t you wish to get some gifts too? And I don’t mean those gifts you get when you apply for a certain credit or fund transfer… I meant savings. We used to get ‘Piggy Banks’ each Lunar New Year.. Now, even the angpow packets are so limited to bank customers… sigh

Technical Support

Posted by spymama on Oct-6-2011

Years back. Hmm.. maybe decades, I had applied for a part time job in the service industry while studying. I was offered a job in a hotel soon. After a month, because I was more interested in the back of the house, they gave me a job that was actually advertised under the Technical Recruiter Jobs section - Graphic Computer Support. Even though I had no industry experience for that, I just liked to dabble in some of their computer software and hardware, mainly Apple - of course. I had an Apple at home which I used often and I had many friends who owned Apple. I thought these type of job were a no brainer. Of course many colleagues were just clueless in the way Apple worked. You just needed to be more focus troubleshooting and it was easier to take the ‘extension’ files out by drag and drop method. Yes, Apple revolutionised GUI (graphic user interface), very different from the typing in method by other PCs.

Then, wham! This morning, my idol Steve Jobs had passed away. It was a great shock although we were all expecting something amiss when he started losing weight years back. RIP, Steve. I wish you a peaceful journey to the other world. The whole world is shaken by the news. Peace be with you.
