Each One is Different

Posted by spymama on Mar-30-2011

I don’t like to buy new products most of the time. I like to wait and find out from people from various sources how good is the product and especially hear from users themselves. One lady who promoted her cosmetic product kept telling me how good it was but I told her that I like to be in touch and updated with constant contact reviews not because I don’t trust her but because users are the best way to be able to tell you how it best work or not for them. We all have different skin, live in different humidity countries and our living cultures, lifestyles are different. No one should have the same effect but it may be a good majority or works on a small minority of group of users/testers. I think new products should let the public wait for at least about a month to half a year before an official launch to see how a product works on each individuals.

So many Smarter phones now

Posted by spymama on Mar-30-2011

It’s been 3 years and I still have been using my trusty old Nokia mobile. I have a desire to change it to the new smartphones that is on the market but each time I want to try something, I decide to adopt a wait and see attitude. I cannot decide if my smartphone should have a built in systèmes GPS or just a simple limited type that can send message, read some emails on the go or should I go for the nice and oh so new i-everything can do that you can play games, do webchats, read online papers and watch hdef movies at the same time. What say you. Which is better. Do they all consume so much battery that you’ll be left with a flat batt in just a day or two? Phones are so smart, they have out smart us all buy upgrading and improving all the time, eh.

Baffling Passion

Man’s best friend - the Dog. Woman’s best friend - Diamond. Such contrasty difference. Hmmm I believe when they meant ‘man’, it is in general. But do you think that when they meant ‘women’ it is in general too? I figured that not just women loves diamonds, in fact I know of a few good men, who loves diamonds too! This old school mate of mine, he would scour the many countries that specializes in diamonds, wholesale and retail and even travel in search to places like Diamonds International Jewelry Key West area just to find the perfect diamond for his collection! He has a nice little album with photos showcasing his collection, the carats of each one and little details that I, an amateur would hardly be able to understand. But for someone with a passion like his, nothing means more than knowing every little cut and detail and all the 5 Cs in a diamond. I am just baffled..

Just Don’t Taste The Same

I like Chicken Pies. A LOT! When I was growing up, I would buy it from a cozy restaurant near my home. They have a little corner with yummy pies, cream cakes and sausage rolls with all that lovely puffy pastry. Oh I miss them so much, but alas, they are no longer in business, sold the restaurant to other business operators. Their Chicken Pies, are ubdoubtedly the BEST. Real chicken filling, with mushrooms, peas, egg, and delicious thick gravy, you can’t get anything near this, nowadays. Even when a friend called me up to see if I wanted to partner him in a franchise Pie shop, I had to try sample the pie first. Nowadays, pie fillings are all done with too much flour and pastry that you only get so little of fillings. If I were to open a chicken pie shop, my gut feeling would be something that tasted like the Chicken Pie from the shop I patronized near home. Well, if I have so much energy left, I’d start a little bakery…

True Meaning of Birthday, is it lost?

Happy Birthday to Mummy-Me.. hahahah well, I was given this cake and I’d almost forgotten I have a birthday. I don’t like people to fuss over me but I do love surprises. I had already specifically reminded loved ones that I am one who do not enjoy seeing numbers so I got a cake, without any number and a sole candle was lighted for celebration. I think that is sweet of my family. I was touched that they know me so well. I loved the cake, a yummy Black Forest filling cake. I was bathed in love and I felt really happy.

I used to enjoy celebrating Birthdays but because of all that ‘commercialized packaging’ the true meaning of a Birthday is somewhat lost and distorted. It should be a day to feel blessed at how many years we have enjoyed our life, how blessed we are to have people around us and want to have our loved ones with us as we hit more milestones with every birth day/month. We should not be expecting all that gifts as much as celebrating Life in every passing year. Did you ever thought of our life this way?

Organize Cables Effectively

Posted by spymama on Mar-9-2011

Almost trip over my pc cables the other day. I have too many of them behind the computer desk that it is really an eyesore. I thought of getting one of those wire loom organizer that you can put all your cables in an organized way like a long tube without seeing it all untidy and tangled up. It wont be long before i trip and cause the cable to be pulled out! I bought some wires the last time to tie them up, expecially those that are a little shorter. But they are tied and open so it still looks terrible. With a printer, copy machine, laptop and more stuff, I really don’t know how to ‘hide’ them since my room is very small and too many things already!

Smells and lovely memories

I like to stay in the library. Yes, I do like to read. I can really take my time to read and not do much. But of course I don’t have all the time for this luxury. I need to eat and earn my keep, right? But one reason I like to stay or hang around my own little library is because they smell nice, like Davidoff cigars. It is a delicious smell! My partner sometimnes smoke cigars in the room and he likes this brand a lot. I don’t smoke but I love the smell. And this smell reminds me of him, of my home and makes me very relaxed, like on a resort holiday because he usually smokes cigars in the resort room! Do you have any nice smell of something yummy that reminds you of something nice? Eating pandan jelly reminds me of my next door neighbour who loves to cook Asian agar agar outside her home at the yard. And the best thing about it, she cooks it on a charcoal stove… and I am always waiting near the divider for a treat! Oh and not to mention, nasi lemak always remind me of mom and her best nasi lemak cooked with love, right at home…
