Binging on Cookies

Posted by spymama on Jan-28-2011

More cookies, more cookies.. my friend told me on her messenger. I had baked some pineapple tarts for her the other day. But she wanted more! LOL. I wish I had enough to make more for her but I am busy.. still with the last minute stuff for home. And I had not even bought my sackful of rice to top up my rice container and paste the ‘mun’ word yet. Sigh.

I remember she liked Amos cookies.. perhaps I can source online for cookies closed to Amos Chocolate Chips or perhaps I can just buy her a jar of it? Would that be cheating? I know she expects me to bake.. and I am tempted to ‘repackage’ Amos’ into those CNY cookie jar and write, gift from Spymama.. lol Well as long as after I ‘fund’ her all the cookies, she won’t come after me looking for weight loss products at the end of the Lunar New Year month! Then I’d have to start sourcing out for supplements instead but, I can always bring her to go hiking, cycling or maybe just a brisk walk around our block.. lol

Tea instead of Coffee today

Posted by spymama on Jan-28-2011

It could be an epidemic.. Flu symptoms, cough, sore throats and more. That is what the newspaper says. There are so many people being sick in the past two week alone. My partner is also down. He has cough, flu and had since recovered from them. But he still has some bad throat and his phlegm is giving him some problems. I thought of getting to the pharmacy to buy some Fluimucil for him. It helped me the other time, breaking down the phlegm, but it takes some time. I’ve just recovered from a bad flu and I slept in the other room to avoid passing it on back to him.. What a terrible way to end our year of the Tiger. This morning, instead of taking coffee (which I can’t do without), I decided to take tea instead. Tea is good for many things, with good level of antioxidents, especially Green Tea and Black Tea. I read that they are one of the best way to replace supplement diets for quick weight loss too. But most of all I love tea because of their refreshing taste, with or without milk. I hope by adopting this beverage, I can start on a healthy new lifestyle for the new Rabbit year.

When To Avoid Nuts, for me

Posted by spymama on Jan-28-2011

Everyone tries hard to keep to a good diet plan, including me. Sometimes I go to the local pharmacy to look for something good but most of the time, when I reach their counters, I end up looking for best acne products because these products usually are in your face. Cosmetic solutions are at every corner of the shop, which baffles me. Do the local people have more facial problems than anything else? I do know that it is not easy to overcome acne that comes in age and diet. You get various types and you really must identify if yours is because of the diet you are in. This way, you are able to cut down on those products that gives you acne. My worst acne problems usually comes when I consume nuts and chocolates. So I KNOW I will get a bad skin outbreak after consuming them. This way, I know when not to and when I can. Never eat them at least 3 days to a wedding or any invitation dinner or outing. This way I know I won’t lose my confident when I get an outbreak. What about you?

Cars in Sg

Posted by spymama on Jan-28-2011

Cars in Singapore are getting more and more expensive. The Certificate of Entitlement, or COE as we call it, is at one of it’s highest ever for the past decade. Less people will be able to afford driving a new car now since quotas get stiffer and stiffer. And when the cars are all down to their last year of COEs, not many will want to renew having cars. I still have about 2 years left before I decide if I want to give up my car altogether. I suppose when my car insurance also expires in a month’s time, I am tempted to get a car insurance quote from insurance companies that are online. I’ve read that there are many types of car insurance companies you can get online and that they are basic but reasonably cheap too.

Must have a Hand Dryer

Posted by spymama on Jan-27-2011

National Environment Agency in Singapore, the people who comes to make sure food handlers are all certified and food outlets are kept clean and hygiene all the time. They were in the toilets, the public ones where I normally go to do my daily marketing. Did you know that it is compulsory to fit hand dryers in toilets in Singapore? I just found out after I heard them asking someone who seems to manage this public toilets. Get a fine if you don’t have one. IT IS COMPULSORY, besides toilet papers and handwash liquid soap with proper dispenser. So now you know why Singapore will never run out of toilet paper, soap and hand dryer. Yay for public toilet users.. No need to run to buy tissue papers from the mom and pop shop!

It’s not Perfect English but.. it’s mine

Posted by spymama on Jan-27-2011

My fiend read my blog and said. Wheyheyyyy.. you have grammatical mistakes, and you forgot that there is no felled in the English language..

Eerrr.. okay okay lah. So I made mistakes loh. What can I do, I am only human and sometimes I do not edit my posts because all I want is just to write what I am thinking and get on with it. I am no editor, ok and neither am I any English Language specialist, which gives me the ‘license’ to make grammatical mistakes, ok? This is not a blog for you to improve your language but just an outlet of my thinking mind. I don’t think like a perfect programmed android with super english dictionary that auto checks and auto highlights to be corrected, you know…

So, my friend, are you my friend or my fiend. Would you like to correct my posts? Then I just write ‘anyhow’ and you could be my editor.. saves me a lot of trouble phrasing things sometimes. I tend to just write and write and not bother with anything else. Let me send you my stuff in point forms. Can?

Wrestle in Shoes

Posted by spymama on Jan-27-2011

What is the difference between Gusti and Wrestling, may I ask? I think they are the same. One is in Malay while the latter is in English language. I grew up watching Gusti with my Dad because he just absolutely enjoys watching it. He is always glued to the idiot box when it is on. I do not really like it when they get thrashed, thrown, flipped or whatever ’stunt’ they seem to be surprising their opponents.. But I watched them because of the way they ‘promote’ themselves. Their names, a special charactor, the X-factor, a special significance and especially their outfit! They really have outfits that can shame any Super Hero on Earth.. The only thing was that, I never really paid attention to their wrestling shoes or, did they ever wore special shoes for this extreme sport? Did you think that some of their fights were rehearsed? Now that I would like to find out.. lol

Medi-Cabinet

Posted by spymama on Jan-27-2011

Middle of the night, hubby made a lot of noise just to find his nose drops from the plastic box that we use to house all our medication. He ‘hrmmmph’ till I got up to help him find it. It wasn’t that difficult but it always happens when he finds things, and always gets impatient. Afterwards, I’d have everything in a mess of course. He told me that I should get one of those proper types like the Robern Medicine cabinet, which is of standard looking type and he will have it fitted into the space near the dining room. This way, everything will be in full view and he would never have to rummage through my plastic containers again..oh well! Perhaps, if he wants, why not, he’s paying, after all …

Easter on Rabbit Year

Posted by spymama on Jan-27-2011

Ok so everyone tells me Lunar New Year is not even here yet. And why am I rushing off to buy egg shaped stuff, colour paints, brushes and lots of bunny theme items. For one, it is true, I am just being a little paranoid. But this year’s Easter is going to be a very big celebration, having falled on the Chinese calendar year of the Rabbit itself. I’m sure lots of rabbit motif stuffs will still be available, but I still enjoy looking for the best and cheap Easter basket gifts now before the rush is in. You never know, things pace very fast, before you know it, it may Easter Sunday tomorrow! Everything moves very quickly now, you know..

How good is Teflon

Posted by spymama on Jan-21-2011

I did spring cleaning the weekend. In the process, I tried to rinse a part of my balcony but I need to hook on the water hose first. I wanted to use some hot water to rinse that corner ( I love to use hot water to sanitize anything) but my water hose just is not long enough. I thought of getting a longer hose and hook it to my other bath that has instant hot water but I am not sure if my rubber hose can handle hot water.. what if it melts? I’ve read that there are special hoses for special liquids or use of transfer of gases. Such example is the teflon hose which is strong and can withstand many types of liquids. But I do not know if such a material type of hose is available for the domestic market.. anyone has an idea? Teflon seems to be the ultimate standard for many household things now.. including teflon coating polish, teflon pans.. etc
