Passion for Romance Novels

Posted by spymama on Sep-24-2010

I have been borrowing romance novels from the library lately. Few at a time. I seemed to have picked up interest in these romance novels after putting them down for.. perhaps a good 25 years? I used to love reading Mills & Boon, Barbara Cartland, Harlequin Romance and even those Sweet Valley High, occasionally.. But most of all, I enjoy those romance that always describe the Hero as Dark, Extremely Attractive and somewhat ruthless too. The Heroine always seemed to be wedlock in some wedding of convenience and they are mostly in their equestrian gear era, with riding of horses and some titles of Lord, Prince or Princess and the Duke and Duchess too. Oh well, perhaps I’m just a hopeless romantic but these romance novels really put me in a different world and it is simply.. nice.

Health is First

After I wrote about how seriously we should be looking for in getting a good healthcare plan, I started to browze online for my own medicare plan insurance. I remember the government sent me an Eldershield plan and I had not really read much although I have that in progress. While googling about this Eldershied, I forgot to type in Singapore and in seconds many many diffrent type of medical healthplans just appear before my eyes. One particular one called the Medicare part D plans plans seemed interesting.. it is this very place where educational information prove very effective. A place for you to learn more about getting the best or good medisave plan and lots of excellent advice dispensed here. And if you know someone who has some disability, you can actually enroll him or her to get advice from the Disability Life Planning Service. Do we have that in Singapore?

Medical Plans

Posted by spymama on Sep-24-2010

The recent news about healthcare in Singapore is something we should be serious about. Healthcare products are getting more and more expensive. The government wants to have every Singaporean the convenience of reasonable healthcare, visits to the clinics and medication within their reach. So far the state of health in general in Singapore is good. I mean, if you go to other countries, there are some who do not get to see a doctor the way we do in Singapore. The queues here are prompt and fast. Appointments are all honoured.

In some countries, it is wise to be registered with a good healthcare plan in case something creeps up. In Singapore, our Government has thought of everything for us. We have Medicare we can take advantage for bigger bills we may need to pay. In North Carolina in the States, you can register with a medical healthplan called the Blue Cross NC which copays specialists or primary care visits, mental health and abuse, urgent care for their customers. There are many good things about this plan but the downside is, you need to be a North Carolina resident first… Well with a vast area of land in the states, I believe there may be other medical plans for other locations too. One need to really shop around for a good plan like the Blue Cross.

iPhone Data Recovery

Posted by spymama on Sep-23-2010

So many people are carrying iphone lately.. The ones I know are the iphone version 3 and few of my friends are now considering the iphone 4, depending on their mobile subscription expiry and plans. Although I liked the iphone 3 tremendously, I have yet to get one of my own. That is because one of my friends recently had her contacts and information been deleted for some technical reason which I am not familiar. She panicked and asked for someone who could help her there and then. Since many people carries or has the experience of being an iphone owner, a fella volunteered to guide her on how to get back her contacts by getting useful iphone recovery information online. Lucky for her, she managed and has since gotten all her contacts intact. She told me that this must be her lucky angel and so, with this lesson learnt, she knows now to print out a list of ALL her friend’s and contact’s telephone numbers with her all the time. Guess when things are all done paperless in the current era, we still need to be in touch with our basic stationery or else face some trouble getting basic information like yout best friend’s telephone numbers.

5Cs in Singapore

Posted by spymama on Sep-22-2010

I have not worn a watch for about a year since… my battery went flat! I have so many watches and once the batteries are not longer working, I just couldn’t be bothered to replace the batteries.. lazy me. And the last watch I worn was a year ago. Nowadays when I need to know the time, I’d just look at my mobile because that is the next best place to read time.. or sometimes I steal a peak at the person next to me..

In Singapore, some people have wierd tastes in watches… wearing enormous ones, ones that had no hands, some are studded with diamonds which I think are fake because they are all lookingn like cut and pasted fake gemstones from Daiso for mobile phone. It looked like someone without any art/design experience trying to make pretty a watch and it backfired instead! And if you notice, many Hong Kongers just love to wear Rolex because it is so normal to them.. and stay in a government flat! If you don’t own a Rolex, in Singapore it means you have not made it to own the 5 Cs. Cash, credit card, club membership, car and career. Will I ever have to work when I am 80? This is Singapore, WAKE UP! All elderlies work in McD or food court, so obvious.

Nice Walk

Posted by spymama on Sep-22-2010

I had just gotten back from a walk at the park. An evening walk. A little breeze and it was nice. There were many people around because today is the day whereby many parents or adults bring kids for walks with lanterns in tow. In fact, besides kids carrying battery operated and traditional lanterns with candles, there were many (in fact more than young kids) who swarmed the park. These teens and young adults were lighting candles all around. It was nice because it bathe the park with natural light and it felt kind of romantic too. With a nice breeze by the park, by the waters in the reservoirs, walking seemed so pleasant. I’m sure this activity makes the best weight loss supplement that you never have to take orally.. There were many people who gather near the barbeque pit, probably having a small gathering with some yummy food smells drifting into my senses… that made me hungry and I went to the nearest coffee shop for that crispy spring chicken…

Joint Pains or Osteoarthritis

Posted by spymama on Sep-22-2010

Okay so they said that there is no evidence that Glucosamine helps us with joint pains. What a stark reality. Especially disappointing for me since I’ve had them for years and I had always thought they do something for me. But then again a friend did recommend me this thing called msm. At first I had no idea what they were and not very into consuming anymore tablets that are the size of Glucosamine (gulp) until she told me that this msm comes in liquid, cream or gel form, to be applied externally. Well, not wanting to waste any more time, I started to search for the best msm lotion, not sure if I have found it yet but I’m sure my search will likely be narrowed down soon. I’m sure I am going to find one very soon. By the way, for your info, MSM stands for Methyl SulfonylMethane. They say it is a good find to Osteoarthritis Treatment.

Lanterns at Riverside

Posted by spymama on Sep-22-2010

riverside

If you are in Singapore, you will be greeted with many lanterns at the Riverside this month. After all, it is the lantern festival! And today is the 15th day of the 8th month, and many chinese celebrate today with lanterns and mooncakes. I went to the Riverside last week and there were so many beautiful lanterns floating on the waters at Boat Quay/Clarke Quay, or simply the Riverside. It is a beautiful sight and many diners sitting by the waters get to view these beautiful lights while enjoying their meal. How about going for the Rivercruise on the little cute boats? I took some photos for rememberance. Not too sure if they will have many of these free sights in future to come. Years ago, lantern displays are held at the Chinese Garden and requires one to pay admission to enter. But seriously, they are also worth every penny!

Happy Mid Autumn Festival Everyone!

Listings Can Be Free Too

Posted by spymama on Sep-22-2010

What’s good of an online business if no one knows you existed. It is very important to learn the basics of SEO or just know at least how to socialize around to get people to come to your blog or online shop. Some people pay for advertisements while some put their online websites on shopping directories. But did you know that there are those who let you do a free directory submission so that you can gain some free traffic when people hop onto their directory page. These directory sites list down many websites, some in categories or some of the same or similar trades for their visitors. Perhaps if you are still new to online business, this would be a very good way to get started and penetrate the internet market.

Waited On

Going for a spa holiday is something I have been thinking about, lately. Imagine being pampered and spoilt, having a good massage, going for facials or even getting the best acne treatment on a holiday sounds just so delicious. No rushing about, no paper chase, no worries whatsoever. Just melt and be waited on the whole day and getting your beauty sleep up to 10 perfect hours a day! Sounds wonderful, right? My partner suggested the Club Med package instead of Spa package but I still prefer the former… Club Med sometimes makes you come out and be socially active so that is a little bit stressful..
