The Great Singapore Sale is on. The Great Singapore Sale became a nightmare when it got flooded last week.. but some people had some free stuff when it flooded cos they claimed that things just ‘floated’ their way. I wonder how much of damage each shop owners got.. Wendy’s really was down in luck after being opened for only three days, the premise was flooded and everything in there was ruined… Three days’ old equipment and fittings… OUCH! A friend whose car was stuck in the flood was cursing and swearing because not only did he get his car damaged, his notebook computer that was placed in the boot got wet meant all his important documents were all gone.. and nope, he didn’t backed them up cos he was in a hurry for a very important meeting!
And I never thought a flood would ever occur in Singapore’s Orchard Road area! The Great Singapore Flood.

I have been buying satay lately. Usually buy them for supper. I am a great fan of satays. In case you didn’t know, satay is grilled meats on those thin bambood skewers. They are then dipped into the peanut gravy and accompanied with fresh cucumber pieces and raw onions. They are just sooo yummy, of course. Satay sellers usually barbequed them on those charcoal griller and fan them till they are just cooked. I am looking for a portable griller but those that I see in the shops do not look like they are for domestic usage. Perhaps I should just get an electric grill for convenience? The only gripe I have is that it will not give a nice smokey smell/taste if we don’t use charcoal. I know a friend who marinates her meat then fry them in a pan, sans skewer.. Will that be nice? I am still considering which method works best. Maybe just get a small portable round charcoal stove that domestic wives uses for soup?

I went window shopping yesterday, looking for attractive lighting for the dining table. The one we have is so dated and is attached to the ceiling fan. The fan blades is not effective and we don’t feel cool from the fans but we feel cooler from the wind near our window. Next to the lighting shop, I chance upon another shop that also sells kitchen hardware like wellknown Blanco and Whitehaus Sinks and handsome-looking Moen kitchen faucets for residents for the best quality for their homes. Personally I like Moen because their products seemed so simple looking yet effective and you can tell how fine their workmanship is. No regrets if you got one already.

My best friend works in a lawyer firm for the past 12 years. Lately she says that the employees in the firm seemed to have shrunk to less than 10. Guess times have gotten from bad to worst. She told me that many lawyers and their firms have also decided to move away from their main key jobs and handle many other jobs like writing wills, contract documentations and other paperwork. It is so difficult to fight a good case nowadays. But the kind of lawyers that do specialized work are not dwindling but increasing in numbers as there are people who prefer to hire experienced lawyers to fight specific cases, like lawyers who handles motor accident cases, family disputes and divorcees and in some countries in the west, you can even find a Mesothelioma lawyer too. Lately there are also many people in the medical industry who got sued by their patients. Guess even a doctor or surgeon has to be extra careful too. Oh and don’t bother telling me about a girl who sued her mom in United Kingdom… I’ve read that one too. Pathetic.

I must admit that I love to shop for lingeries. When I was younger, I’d spent so much time hanging out in the lingerie department looking at those new designs that comes in once in a while. There was a time when I thought I might want to study fashion and be a lingerie designer even! And when I came to know of Victoria’s Secret online, it was like a wonderful dream. Many women friends I know love their collection too. Never are such intimate clothings hidden under your daily wear. Nowadays, many fashion designers create them to be worn externally and appreciated for their niche market. There are also those that create or design sexy costumes for party wears, events and other special occasions too. Corporate, Wedding and various social events are among some very good examples. I had a friend who put together a sexy theme for a hen party.. I didn’t make it as I had another wedding dinner of a close relative and till today I wondered how outrageous it was… hmmm. Would you have attended such event? Wish I did, LOL

Okay, I won’t deny that I am just so so guilty about fat these days. I can’t help thinking about how much I put on in the last year and have been procrastinating to lose weight but never did. But this time, I am really really serious about it and never have I been that dead serious. Aside that customized fitness program I want to have, I looked at myself in the mirror, weighed my self and scrutinzed my belly. I can’t fit into my year old swim wear because I look horrible and like I am three months preggie… sigh. Anyone has a book that reads how to reduce belly fat? I really want to cut this out.. maybe get a wrap around my waist thingy? Will I be breathless at all? Or should I just do sit ups… oooh I’m just too lazy for sit ups… hohummmmm

So after the episode about my panting breath and being so unfit, what can I do now except to start looking around for the gym. I found our local gym at the stadium nearby that opens to public and charges like only few dollars per session. I don’t want to register for those haute gyms in town because I feel that those place are more like the place to be seen when you already have a fit body and wears those extra nice looking gym or exercise gear.. So what I want is those basic looking with all the unfit looking people really trying hard to work out and get fit. Of course I would also need to get the gym trainer there to help customized the best ab workout for my age and body. I really think I can try to do something and perhaps I won’t feel so lethargic after several sessions. No pain no gain, they said, but hopefully not too painful… stressed..

I panted badly when I climbed up the forth storey staircase. On the other hand, my friend showed how easy and like a breeze it was. How much different we both are especially when she is a year OLDER than me. I asked her what was her secret wonder drug. Guess what, nothing. Just lots of ab workouts and regular fitness walk was all she has under her slim belt… wow. I think she really showed me how regular exercise can do so much to one. Guess I can say goodbye to all my oily food and pork belly as well as my favourite Bacon because I do want to be walking up the staircase without all that panting… I don’t need a trainer but some professional advice from the gym fellas would be good.

Although I had already paid up my car insurance just a month ago, I wished now that I had gotten it via the internet. It is so much convenient now. It was advertised in our local papers just few days ago that you can get some Aviva car insurance online and they are also so much cheaper. You also get a 14 day money back guarantee but I guess before one does that one really need to read up alot before a purchase right? There are so many types in the market and I had a look and read up about some matters at carinsurancelist.com too. I wonder if Aviva is the first in Singapore to advertise online for this product? I do not know but many other countries had been offering these online for some time but not all are familiar with our Singapore system. But the conveience is that you can amend and renew them online too. This is the part I think is wonderful. Saves so much time.

How many photosites, blogs or online websites can one have? Countless! There is no limit and with so many offering photoblogs, journal blogs, sites that let you own a page of online stores and even your own personal sites linked to your emails we certainly are spoilt for choice. I have countless of them, even music sites that I have lost count and forgotten about because I can’t remember the passwords or sign in ids. I only keep track mostly those that I pay for like paid domains and they are all dot coms. Some domains are very cheap, especially those or the dot org or others. I wonder if those review pages like the www.adipexdietpills.org are set up purely for medical educational purpose or commercial websites. Most of those org I went to are informative websites like those for education, travel or important matters of the country for the citizens and residents. Can anyone just own an org website?
