For All My Little Things

Posted by spymama on May-29-2010

I love bags. All kinds of bags. I collect too many and now that the world is hankering over environmental friendly issue, I end up collecting Green bags. Thos poly something type. I’ve got from all types of supermarket chains, different types from seminars, events and best of all, I also have those from the Aussie markets. My friend who lives in Melbourne and travels quite a bit, collects them for me and she even got me a Shrek Green Bag! It’s so cool.

Now that I’ve got so many of those, I have also divert my attention on those laptop bags. But laptop bags have not much space for my ‘infinity’ items like toiletry pouch, brolly, first aid mini pouch, makeup bag, handphone, coin purse, two wallets and many many other stuff. I need a small bag that is strong and can have all my stuff in there. I wonder if they have cool trendy looking womens briefcase with lots and lots of partition because I just love to organize and put each item into individual places… Also, why do they make these briefcase in the usual black or leather brown colour? How about Fuchia, Lime Green or even Bright Tangy Orange..

One of those things

I’m awed by those e-book reader that is available by few reputable brands. I intend to get one soon but have not decided which one is user friendly and most important, light and easily available. One that I really really liked is the one by Apple and Kindle.. but unfortunately, both are not available in Singapore, YET. Perhaps I can order them online but I don’t know if many online shops I’ve browzed through handles credit card processing for my local bank’s credit card.. I know most are international ones but none of the local bank card? Or perhaps I should just pay by PayPal? Security should not be compromised, of course.

Started with a Seminar

Posted by spymama on May-14-2010

More than 15 years ago, I was foolish, naive, gullible for being tricked into a holiday home. It was a warm invitation, very warm one indeed and I was invited to listen to a short seminar about buying holiday homes in Goa and Bali. I was overwhelmed by it, bought one in Goa and years later, never used it and what more, more payments had to be paid for maintenance yearly and etc… I then went back into the company which they offered to switch this one with one nearer to home, at Kuta Beach, Indonesia… I paid a little money for that and yet, I didn’t use it. Then I read in the papers how many people complained about being pressured into buying them too. I then decided to look for an agent to sell my timeshare, of course….much to my dismay, not many people handle stuff like these. I was asked to pay a certain sum so that he will extend his selling package and bla bla bla… gosh, more money! Since then I just gave up but I know of some of those who bought these holiday homes are still looking for authentic agents who are honest and did help to sell their timeshares..

Future

A daughter of my friend is waiting to enter uni. I can’t believe how fast time flies. She was just a baby when I held my friend’s newborn almost two decades ago and now… I know she had been so undecided about her path or journey and the courses she wants to take or careers she wants to pursue. I would too, except that in my time, I didn’t have people who would give me this useful advice. She is now going into pharmacist and I think it is a great choice. I hope she makes it as a wonderful pharmacist and a commited one too. Singapore is going to have many old people in the coming years and we certainly could use with more medical personnel!

Mother’s Day Greetings, to all Moms

Posted by spymama on May-9-2010

I had been searching high and low for the perfect Mother’s Day present. When your mom lives in another country, it is not easy to spend the time with her, except to pay her a visit physically. I do miss my mom. I noticed stores have been selling varieties of Mother’s day gifts and they do placed many creative displays
of gift items mostly on their cashier counter. It is an effective way because when you are pressed for time (with a queue behind), you see something you like and quickly you pick it up to pay together with all your other purchases, so as not to hog the queue. I do that most of the time when I am in the Petrol kiosk’s cashier, and at the supermarkets too. So, did you managed to get your mom any nice meaningful present? Mine did, she called me before I could call her. A chat on the phone means so much. To hear your mom’s voice is just wonderful.

I Love You, Mom. Happy Mother’s Day.

Change of Careers

Posted by spymama on May-5-2010

A drive at the outskirts of town is just amazing.. Nowadays, the homes are getting trendier and trendier and many of the friends I know are giving up their professional careers like doctors and lawyers to design homes as a hobby as well as turn professional too. A doctor gave up his clinic and started to design homes from scratch, and does interiors too. Then he sells it off to those who wants to avoid the hassles of working or coordinating with contractors, designers and others. I’m not sure what a cad drawing is but he says he will show me one if I want to.. Well, chances are, I won’t be able to afford any of his designer modelled homes, not until I strike a lottery or something… Bah..
