I Love Yolks More Than Whites..

My favourite part of the egg - THE YOLK has about 210mg of cholesterol. Unless you are healthy, you should be limiting your intake to less than 300mg a day. And if you have cardiovascular disease or diabetes, you need to limit to less than 200mg a day.

So what does that mean? If you have toast bread with two soft/half boiled eggs, you’d be eating more than recommended mg of cholesterol… sigh. And I do like to take soft boiled eggs, about few times a week… my doc said that it is best that I don’t take them more than twice a week… sigh sigh sigh

My friends recommended egg whites but it’s just not the same. No egg is the same without the creamy yummy yolk… maybe I can do with less but I can’t do without… What about you..

I love my eggs to much.. especially the yolks..

Respects to those who have passed on month

Posted by spymama on Mar-29-2010

It is that time of the year again. Ching Ming month, the month where the chinese people pay a yearly respect visits, make food offerings, burn incense and clean up the graves of their beloved. Ching Ming festival is also a time for family bonding to be reminded of our ancestors who have passed on and those who are still around while kids are being told of the past stories, of their grandmother-grandfather and others. As kids, we all tagged along our parents and elders, battling sun and rain, making way through ‘lalang-filled’ (ferns, wild grass…the like) to find the grave yards and make prayer offerings. I remembered fondly how these are usually shared responsibility between my aunts and uncles and it is the time we all get together as extended family.

Frankly I thought it was fun since I get to see them and my cousins as well. For chinese families, it is no small matter from the time of death of any family member and funeral cost can run up to tens of thousands of dollars especially when we prefer to spend on a nice location, elevated ground and building respectable and quality gravestones. In the oldest days, you can distinguished the rich from the less fortunate by these tombstones, the names carved, the colours used in the names, location, and how big the stone and little frills as well.

In My Mail Came…

Posted by spymama on Mar-29-2010

I haven’t cleared my mail in the last three days.. Sometimes I’m too lazy to check the mailbox.. Oh, by the way, I don’t mean my email box. It’s my real brick and mortar mailbox.. or rather, my stainless steel silver mail box.. I hate to receive those junkmails so I am particular glad that my mailbox has a special lock that no one but the postman can open to deliver mails to me. It’s better than the older type where people just throw their junk mail like mailers, flyers, advertisement and bla bla bla…

So when I opened my mail box this morning.. there were no advertisements nor flyers BUT the bills were piling high already! My telephone bills, credit card bills, road tax reminder *sulk* and even a reminder to pay my life insurance policy.. wahahahahah I had forgotten about it… oh dear.. There were also my utility bills, cable bills and my Reader’s Digest bill.. goodness gracious me! Looks like I’m gonna be broke in a week!

I need to go and buy myself Toto already… I need so lucky number.. anyone?

Malls like them

I can’t help but look at brands or logos of toilet and bathroom fittings wherever I go. Since we are there to test the products for real, I always scrutinize or pay attention to little details, patterns and workmanship of the products. From the taps, wash basins to toilets. Among the many variants of toilet fittings, i noticed that the American Standard toilets seemed to be among the favourable brand in shopping complexes. Could it be because of it’s innovative designs, workmanship and water efficiency, I do not know. If I can change the ones in my home, I’d really want to get the ‘plunger free’ versions that eliminate clogging. Of course, the real reason is because I just love their products.

Maintaining Muscles

Posted by spymama on Mar-24-2010

Hunks, like it or not, usually comes with massive body and muscles… hahahah interesting? If that didn’t sound so, then perhaps you might be one of those who prefers someone with just a two pack or none. Spypapa used to go to the gym ever so often so that he can have his six pack and makes sure he maintains his muscles taut and firm. I know of some of his friends who are weight lifters and they have a specialized diet that consists of lots of protein rich products and drinks.. They say protein feeds muscles so if you have been working out and find that there isn’t much muscles even though you work out three times a week, there are many protein rich products that helps. My friend recommends super pump 250 but I don’t really know what they are. Guess it is time to hit the online resource sites to find out more about super pump 250 reviews first. I understand that it is some food diet supplement for those who have trouble maintaining the size of their muscles.

Hemorrhoids

Posted by spymama on Mar-24-2010

I know of several friends who suffers from Hemorrhoids. Many of them do not reveal this condition until when someone suddenly blurts it out unashamedly that he or she has that. Perhaps it is just too embarrasing to mention it but then again, they just prefer to keep these things to themselves. I know of a bad experience with someone close who had just been discharged from the hospital after he had a surgery done. Boy, I can imagine how painful it must be because he winced in pain, and especially so when he has to sit on the sitz bath to reduce the size and help healing faster. Some get a certain kind of hemorrhoids cream to apply but I know many of them had revealed that it is almost impossible to apply that and even more dreaded to let someone help them. Then again, is there any kind of application help one can use?

Healthy and Natural is Raw Garlic

Posted by spymama on Mar-23-2010

I bought a sack of garlic bulbs lately. My friend, who went shopping with me just couldn’t understand why did I need so much of garlic bulbs for. Not so much for cooking actually but for consumption, definitely. Chopped coarsely and marinate with a little soya sauce and some chilly padi (bird’s eye chilly). Did you know that eating garlic in raw form is very healthy, actually. It is a very real way of cholesterol treatment, not so much treating it as doctors does it but it does help to lower down the cholesterol. Many of natural stuff are being recreated by using essence in natural and artificial to create something that is alike a raw cholesteral. I think it is because some people wants to know what goes into the average noodle or food items.

Trick or Treat or what?

Posted by spymama on Mar-23-2010

Have you ever wondered how much work is put into web pages you browzed or surf to? I am not IT based nor do I know any IT language. No javascript nor technical terms of those lingo beceause I am just as blur and they do sound greek to me. The only thing I am concern is usually how much information and how easy to navigate the page, is what I curse and swear about… sorry, ya. Why do I say that? Well for a start, there is always a button on some sites - retail or educational ones.. they always carry this text of ‘click here to learn more‘. But many a times, when I did clicked on it, something else like avertisement comes out.. Not each sites are very frank on the items they sell or unload too. Please do reconsider your web pages, please… Nothing complicated and no tricks please!

Spymama Vainess

Posted by spymama on Mar-23-2010

So, the search will never end… Why do I say that. Well, for a start, in my last post, I mentioned about the horror of horrors, wrinkles. But besides this, I am also concern about other stuff.. oh how vain can Spymama get, right? Ya Ya Ya, where can I get the best acne products now? Which, where and wow factor… Hmm.. don’t be puzzled. I need one that can zip off the acne in double quick time, thus the wow factor… those chocolates that I guzzled in the past days… I can’t help buying Lindt dark chocolates, okay? They are really popping up objections on my face… not quite that obvious yet but I figured it will only be a day or two before they make me look like man on the moon.. err I meant moon on the man/woman’s face.

Counter The Big W

Posted by spymama on Mar-23-2010

I squirmed, then made a face when I looked in the mirror this morning…oh, how i hate the sight of it. My face.. not really. But the lines that are just fatedly called wrinkles… arrrghhhh… If there was one wish I want to have come true, would be that women do not develop wrinkles, not ever! Can you imagine how much money I spent on looking for the best cream to counter that? I will go all out to get serums, creams, essence, whatever I can to see if the product is effective… I will also pour over magazines and internet looking for people who might have written some anti wrinkle cream reviews, before I purchase any product. This is how obsessive I am against the Big W. I would also try out natural products that friends even suggested at home. And there was once, I even apply dollops of Olive Oil on my face! If I were any tan, I think people might just mistook me for some pervert in Asia..
