In the papers yesterday, I read that now nurses are being dispensed as the first to be consulted when we go to the polyclinic or some hospital. This is great as it frees up the doctors time and let them handle more patients who are chronically ill and require more personal attention. Our common flu and cough will be seen by the nurses who have been certified fit to handle these cases. Mind you, they aren’t just any other fresh grads but more to those with advance studies such as those who may have taken courses like the medical assisting certification that is endorsed by the the government. The fees charged will be lesser to which will help many patients too. Now I wish I had been taking nursing after graduating from school! I wouldn’t mind doing such a respectable and honoured career.

So, everyone in Singapore is getting themselves prepared for the up and coming integrated resort that will open next year first or second quarter. Everyone is talking about the theme parks, gaming, live entertainent that will be similar like what you get when you go for those Vegas vacations in the states. Will that deter people from going to Vegas or even Macau? I don’t think it will. It will be a different environment and the weather is so different. Singapore is hot and humid whereas in Vegas, Macau and even in Genting Highlands, you get to experience a cooler or chilly weather, depending on the months you go. I like cooling weather, keeps me sane. Hot and humid makes me irritated and makes me angry faster!

I’ve always loved travelling. Then again, it is not easy deciding what to bring because I always ended up bringing more than what I need, including extras of everything. Living off a recreational vehicle is something I would love to do but then, the cost for one of those large caravans or any other such vehicle is just too daunting. Besides car loans that are available to the public, I’ve heard that rv finance is also getting popular among many with an interest to buy but do not want to fork out so much money at one time. A recreational vehicle is certainly more affordable than a boat in terms of maintenance, cost as well as parking/docking charges. Perhaps I should get the RV so that I can literally bring my ‘kitchen sink’ wherever I go. Wouldn’t that be so nice? I know in Australia and the States, one can find allocated parking spaces for recreational vehicles in city as well as parks and countryside.

I have some problem with my washing machine. I need to find a proper location for it. Since I changed to a Sanyo brand, the orientation for water outlet is so different from Thomson. The only way to solve it is to bring the level of my machine higher or to relocate it to the bathroom near the kitchen. Spypapa hinted that perhaps we should renovate this bathroom a little. He wants to turn it into a dry area but I really want a place where I can wash the rugs and shoes so a dry area would not be really that practical for me. Then again, if I do renovate the bath, I’d love to get one of those fancy Kohler faucets if I could. I have this weakness for designer stuff expecially bathroom fittings and furniture for home. Did I mentioned that I used to study interior design before?

My ex colleague visited me at work recently. With her, she bought her pet dog, an Alaskan Husky. Beautiful! This little doggie or rather, a very large one actually is the offspring of her other Husky, the pedigree offspring of a champion dog owned by a dog breeder. I used to have dogs when I was as young as 5 or 6 but I’ve not had any pets since I got married. The temptation to own one is very strong but knowing how much responsibilities and care plus heartache at the passing of one can be a put off. Sigh… She was telling me about her friend who has some beautiful Shepland for good owners… How now…

There are many nightspots available in various cities but there will never be nothing as unique as Branson Missouri. This is the place that is popular as the place of live entertainment capital of the world. This place boasts of more theater seats than you can find in NY’s Broadway district. And what is even more attractive is that this place is also suitable for the whole family of all ages so you won’t have to leave the kids behind! If you are thinking of when to go, a good start would be the month of March where the Branson Fest is being held, a very special event.
Then again, throughout the whole year till Christmas, you can experience many lovely live entertainment so no worries about when you are available for the trip. Check out the many packages of Branson vacations that includes activities, shows and shopping. Or if you are an outdoorsy person, there’s canoeing, camping, hiking or even birdwatching to fulfilled that desire for nature.

In the past two decades, I must say that I have been one of those who move from one home to another more often than many of my friends. Since we bought our first apartment in mid 90s till now, we have sold homes and moved about 4 times since, bringing an average of 4 to 5 years at each home we lived in. And when my friend asked me about moving tips, my best advice for her is the packing and labelling the stuff properly into rooms and items. Try not to throw everything into the box as it will take you forever to unpack! Label them into kitchen, clothes, stationery, books, toys, etc so that when you are unpacking into the respective cabinets and rooms, it will be a breeze and you can find your stuff easily. Also, this is the best time to get rid of junk you don’t need.

The weather is killing me. More than a week ago, it was hazy. Then it was extremely hot and the past few days, it has been raining non stop. I read about some flash floods too. Extreme weather. I hope I won’t come up with the flu with H1N1 virus going around. Touch-wood!
I didn’t really eat much in the past few days. I feel a little sick and constipated. I feel that my body needs to get rid of all that toxins from that heavy and oily food I took over the weekend. Perhaps I need to get something of a colon cleanser like slim acai. I have not tried it but I do want to read up about it and see what kind of good reviews for those who have used this product. If it helps to cut down a few pounds of weight, even better! Then perhaps I won’t feel this sluggish too.

The TV is always been invaded. Cartoons, Teenage shows and Sports, all the time. I wish I can get my own idiot box with my own cable line. I want to watch those HBO or Hallmark Classic but I’m always outnumbered.. sheesh! Perhaps I should really consider those useful Slingbox media thingy that lets me watch movies and TV shows from anywhere in the world from my own laptop. This way, I can bring my own laptop anywhere I like and watch any programmed I want to without worrying about who’s hogging my TV. I must get an audio booster first for my lappie since the speaker is not good enough. Can one actually get high end audio from the laptop from just a few speaker or booster device? Anyone with a good advice?

Okay, I know I don’t belong to the new generation but can someone please explain to me what does Prep and Emo means? I saw this cute variation from Glitter Graphics and decided to post it here for your viewing. I thought it was a bit interesting to study the difference but I don’t really understand it somehow.

Why is being a prep so bad that she wears horrible shoes? Is a prep the same meaning as a young high school student like those Ra Ra girls that belong to a group in a cheerleading or popular girls group? And does being an Emo similar to those who are err… known as notorious group of girls who bully others or get bullied by Prep girls and wears mysterious clothing or Harajuku styles?
